It all started when…
Mariam Shibly founded A Blessed Wardrobe (ABW) with her first one-man production, A Blessed Wardrobe for Syria in 2017. By the second production, the ABW Team expanded and found its two Vice Presidents, Afrah Hussain and Hiba Chaudhry.
A Blessed Wardrobe is a modern fashion show, social and shopping event to bring the local community together in the name of a specific cause. For each production, a portion of the proceeds are donated to a designated charity.

Afrah Hussain, Vice President of A Blessed Wardrobe
Afrah was raised in the Middle East and now lives in Chicago. She has an admiration for diverse cultures and cuisines. Educationally, she has a background in healthcare and business. She obtained her Master of Public Health (MPH) and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Benedictine University.
Afrah considers herself a ‘forever student’, she believes that no matter the circumstances there is always something to learn and room to improve. Her hobbies include: crocheting (similar to knitting), volunteering within her community, and exploring different restaurants and coffee spots. Throughout her undergraduate career, she has been actively involved in extracurricular activities, hence, today keeps herself busy being involved in various projects around the community.
A Blessed Wardrobe was that the perfect opportunity for her because it involved two of her passions; charity and creativity. Being part of a dynamic team with Mariam and Hiba was a privilege as they bought their visions to life. The successful production was the icing on the cake for the ABW team’s hard work. The saying ‘Team work makes the dream work’ holds true for these three musketeers.
Hiba Chaudhry, Vice President of A Blessed Wardrobe
Hiba Chaudhry is of Pakistani descent and first generation in the United States. Hiba was born and raised in Chicago, but spent few years in Pakistan when she was younger. During her time in Pakistan Hiba had the chance to experience her culture firsthand which stayed with her there on out. She takes pride in her Pakistani heritage and equally embraces her American culture.
Hiba Chaudhry is an Operations Specialist at Clearwater Capital Partners. She graduated with a degree in Finance from Benedictine University and has been developing her expertise in the field for 5 years.
Aside from building on her profession career in the financial industry, Hiba has a passion for all forms of art. She now works on calligraphy and candle art to feed her creative side. In the past Hiba has volunteered for several charity events and ABW was an opportunity to be part of planning and executing a charity fashion show. Hiba took this opportunity to fulfill her love for event planning, art, fashion and charity all in one.
