The Perfect Hair Day - Masks, Shampoos & Styling Products
With quarantine giving us all the time in the world now, I’ve been able to play with my favorite hair masks and hair styling products to achieve the ultimate shiny luster and healthy look for your hair! Not all these products are necessary to use each time, especially if you’re looking for a quick fix — but I’ll walk you through my step by step process and let you know how each product benefits me.
HAIR OIL: (USE 1-2 DAYS BEFORE)
There are two hair oils I love and they each offer an amazing benefit.
Hemp Hair Oil: I’ve noticed every time I use this oil and shampoo afterwards, my hair feels thicker and more voluminous. I recommend leaving it on at least overnight.
Z’NON Hair Oil: I love this oil especially for the scalp. It strengthens my hair with essential oils, takes care of an itchy scalp and also softens my hair. It also increases your hair growth, it definitely worked for my husband!
HAIR MASKS: (USE DAY OF OR DAY BEFORE)
There’s 3 hair masks that I love to use. I’ll name my top two favorites first:
Gisou Hair Mask: I like to use this creamy mask because one: it smells amazing and perfect to pair with the Gisou Shampoo and Conditioner; two: it creates such voluminous and fluffy hair, without weighing it down. I absolutely love it!
Keratin & Argan Oil Conditioner: Instead of a conditioner, I replace it with this hair mask that I found on Amazon. It seriously thickens my hair beautifully and gives it the best shine. I really don’t need to use many products when I use this mask.
Rose Clay Volumizing Shampoo Paste: Instead of using shampoo, I replace it with this amazing product by Christophe Robin. It’s a great scalp rub, smells great and best benefit of all makes my hair extremely voluminous and bouncy.
Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3: Before I shampoo my hair, if my hair feels really brittle and weak I’ll go ahead and use this mask to strengthen the ends and make it look a little healthier. It does take away from any volume, so I like to use this mask either two priors or day before.
SHAMPOO & CONDITIONERS: (iN-SHOWER)
Gisou Shampoo: All Gisou products smell the best and they’re clean products to use for your hair so I will always recommend their hair line. I love the shampoo and conditioner duo the most because it makes my hair volumized and looks like I got a blow-dry without necessarily having to blow dry! I use it when I’m expecting to dress up that day or day prior. It takes me about 3-4 pumps to gently cover and rinse through my long hair.
Gisou Conditioner: The conditioner is so creamy and spreads so well on your ends. It really softens your hair and of course works perfectly with the shampoo. Once again, I’m obsessed with the scent. I use a quarter size drop to go over all my ends.
Argan Coco Shampoo: I love using this shampoo on my bum days, because it keeps my hair very healthy, strong and shiny. Even with a clean product, it’s very easy to lather all over. I love how the perfect blend of argan oil and coconut oil works really well for my hair. My son and husband have more textured and wavy hair and they love using this shampoo and conditioner as well. Argan Coco Conditioner: This conditioner easily detangles, softens and adds a shine to your hair. It keeps my hair thick and healthy. I apply it to my ends and you don’t need a lot of product.Use MARIAMSHIBLY for 70% off your purchase.
TREATMENT PRODUCTS: (USE POST-SHOWER)
There are a handful of styling products that I like to use depending on the look that I am going for. I’ll name my constant go-tos first and explain the benefit of each.
Moroccan Oil Blow Dry Serum: I love the way it gives me a salon blow-dry look. One pump is plenty to rub on your ends and gently through the middle of your scalp.
Marajo Anti-Frizz Serum: If I’m washing my hair and styling it the same day, I will definitely use one pump of this on the top of my scalp and run it through my hair with my fingers to eliminate as much frizz as possible. Unfortunately this brand no longer exists (if you find it otherwise, please let me know!)
Oribe Hair Color Enhancer: I use 1-2 drops of this to bring out the best color in my hair. It really does make your hair color a lot more appealing and less dull. I also love the way it smells!
ColorWOW Hair Dream Coat: I only use this product before a big weekend filled with events or if I’m really targeting shine in my hair. It only works if you’re planning on blow-drying your hair after!
STYLING PRODUCTS: (USE WITH CURLS OR HAIR STYLES)
These are the products that I constantly use and I don’t need to use much product of:
Gisou Hair Oil: After I do any hair style, I’ll run through Gisou Oil through my ends, hairs or gently through my curls to tame any stray hairs, give it a nice healthy and bouncy look.
Ouai Finishing Cream: I use a pea size drop to tame the fly-aways on the top of my head or gather my ends to make them look a bit more put together. If I’m going for a sleek look, then I like to use more of this product to keep my hair in place and for that “wet” appearance.
Gisou Wave Spray: If I’m looking for more textured and bouncy curls or even day-old curls, I like to freshen it up and add a little edge by spraying this on the ends of my curls and then I comb through the curls after.
Oribe Hair Shine Spray: I haven’t used this spray in a while, but if I don’t happen to go through my shower perfect hair care routine, then I’ll spray a little of this and run it through with my fingers to give it an extra lustrous hair that I’m looking for.
Gisou Hair Perfume: To top off your hair and this is my favorite product asides from the shampoo & conditioner because it keeps your hair smelling BEAUTIFUL for a long time. You only need 2 spritz through your hair. You will love it.
