The Blue Dress

5 weeks postpartum and I’m itching to get moving again. The key to recovery is resting, which you know as moms are not our best habits. So this time around I was a lot more prepared for my recovery than I was for my first delivery. Check out how I prepped my hospital bag, which accelerated my recovery significantly!

Dress: I bought this dress from the Mango sale two summers ago. I love it because it’s loosely fitted and yet still very flattering, so perfect for postpartum. The large buttons make it very chic and cute! Here’s a similar one from Mango with cuter sleeves, I love it.

Jewelry: I’m wearing the thin herringbone necklace from one of my new favorite brands, She’s Unique. Use MARIAM20 for $ off your purchase.

Shoes: I love these Clara by Day espadrilles by Alohas. They’re so comfortable!

A Chic Fit

3 weeks postpartum fashion, where you feel like a cow, but you’re desperate to feel human again so you dress up and finally step out.

Top: I’m wearing one of my favorite print tee brands, 1434 which says Chicago in Arabic. I paired it with a new blazer I got from Aritzia. I love their blazers, because they’re so comfortable and have the perfect cuts. You can literally pair them with anything.

Skirt: I bought this khaki skirt from Mango. I love it because it has a paper bag waist, which is the perfect bottoms to rock when you can’t fit into your old clothes. Here’s a similar one from Mango on sale.

Shoes: Amina Muaddi.

Bag: Celine

The Balloon Sleeves Dress

2 weeks postpartum looks drastically different this time around. I truly have learned the importance of self care, especially during pregnancy and I’m hoping to keep it up during postpartum as well. If you’re interested to know what I did, check out my pregnancy 101 post.

Dress: I got this dress from Zara last summer and it’s elastic waistline is the reason I can wear it 2 weeks postpartum. Dresses are a postpartum mom’s best friend. The sleeves are what I love the most about this dress, they’re flattering for any body type. Here’s a similar one on Amazon that looks even more flattering.

Jewelry:
I’m wearing the thin herringbone necklace from She’s Unique, one of my favorite trendy brands. Use MARIAM20 for $ off. I’m also wearing the paper clip necklace that I got off Amazon!

Shoes: I got these decades ago by Tom’s. They’re comfortable and they’ve lasted me forever. Here’s a trendy pair in black by Tom’s or find an even more flattering espadrilles by Alohas.

Bag: I absolutely adore Bottega’s bags but they’re very trendy and at the moment I can’t afford to splurge on trendy bags. I found an awesome dupe at Shein, which does the job just as well for under $20.

The White Tiered Dress

I love Topshop’s quality and lately they’ve been having bomb sales. I recently shared a good one with you all and copped a few things myself, just like this dress.

Dress: I shared this gorgeous dress during TopShop’s sale. I love the brand it’s quality and trendy pieces. This isn’t a maternity dress, but as you can see it works perfectly for any bump! Unfortunately this exact style is sold out, but here is a similar one in white with short sleeves, midi and one in beige.

Jewelry: I’m wearing the ivy gold ring, stone bracelets, and 3 stone ring by the best authentic Brazilian stone brand, Bellina Cantaeno. Use LADYMARIAM for $ off. My star anklet is from Zudo. Use MARIAM15 for $ off.

Bag: Celine

Shoes: Gianvito Rossi. Here’s a similar pair

Prego Punk Casual

The first time around I definitely didn’t take advantage of pregnancy fashion. I was just trying to find anything that would give me comfort. Now I’ve learned to appreciate maternity fashion and have thrown my own little twist on it.

Top: I got this flattering v-neck from Nordstrom. It’s comfortable and loosely fitted, which works for small bumps and any body type! It’s the perfect casual shirt.

Bottoms: I’m wearing paper bag waist jeans from Zara. I love them because they’re not tight on my belly and I can still fit into jeans! Here’s a similar pair.

Shoes: I’m wearing a booties that I got from Zara’s Fall season last year. Here’s a similar pair from Nordstrom.

Watch: I’m wearing this chic and classy Infinity 32 mm watch in gold with the brown leather strap from Nordgreen. It’ll go with anything all year round and add sophistication to your fits. Use MARIAM15 for $ off your purchase.

Bag: I got this purse from Mango last Fall. They sold out of black, but they’ve got the last remaining in white.

Fall Floral Dress

Target has been coming up with some serious quality dresses. They’re comparable to Zara in terms of fashion, but beats it by quality and price. The best part is most of the dresses are kid proof, which means really hard to stain, easy to move around in and very comfortable.

Dress: This gorgeous dress from Target is made out of breathable mesh material. It comes with a short slip attached underneath. What I love the most about the dress is that it’s actually nursing friendly! The neck is so easy to pull down, it’s impossible to rip off and the waist is made out of elastic so it’s flattering for any mama. It’ll be very easy to restyle this dress in different ways for the Fall as well. I highly recommend snagging this one and I hope they make more similar to this material and style.

Shoes: I bought these sandals last season from Target. They’re not available anymore, but I’ve tagged similar ones that are currently in style at Zara or Nordstrom.

The Cute White Dress

I really wasn’t sure how I was going to celebrate my first son’s birthday this year, with COVID and considering I have a newborn. Things happened to workout better than I expected and quickly setup a quarantine friendly neighborhood party. 2020 teaching us how to make it more meaningful by having my 4 year old year add his own touch to the birthday decor!
Oh and he also gets to have another party. Lucky big brother :)

Dress: I got this cute white summer dress from Target. It’s actually supposed to replace my old one since the straps broke as I try to fit my postpartum body in my old clothes (learning lesson haha). What I love about this dress is that it’s super breezy and the waistline is made of elastic, so it’s easy for anyone to wear at any point of their lives!

Shoes: My staple white shoes are the Converses. They’re quick and easy for short periods of time. I used to wear them for long walks and now that my feet have aged I definitely can no longer do that. They do great with cute causal fits though!

The Classy Power Suit

Power suits will never go out of fashion. It is well worth your money to invest in a few and in variety of colors. This one is definitely my favorite.

Top: I’m wearing one of the best blazers I’ve invested in and it’s by Massimo Dutti. I got this last Fall. There’s not many stores in the US, but they do ship. Given it’s class, it’s so easy to pair this blazer with any top. I decided to keep it minimal and go with your classic white tee.

Bottoms: I bought these jeans almost a decade ago from J Crew. I love the color and it’s definitely an essential to have in your closet. Here’s a similar pair from Banana Republic (regular size & petite size), and they’re currently on sale. Yes I am pregnant in this, I’m rocking my belly band from Nordstrom, which works like magic and is how I’m wearing my pants.

Shoes: I’m wearing my current favorite designer heels, Amina Muaddi.

Bag: My friend, Fatima found this Bottega Veneta pouch dupe from Shein — feel free to use her promo FATIMAQIL315 for more discount.

Accessories: I’m wearing this chic and classy Infinity 32 mm watch in gold with the brown leather strap from Nordgreen. It’ll go with anything all year round and add sophistication to your fits. Use MARIAM15 for $ off your purchase. My ring stack is from Maison Miru, I’m wearing the Moon & Star ring and the Callie ring. From Able, I am wearing the Cesar ring. My chunky chain necklace is from Amazon— I love the tone of this necklace and it’s always trendy.

MANGO Sale Under $100

I love MANGO. Although it is pricier than our usual stores like Zara, the quality is significantly better and much more worth it. They’re having a bomb sale right now and I took the time to share the best finds for under $100. This isn’t your “cheap” sale, but it’s really stylish pieces and high quality for their sale prices. They’ve also got free shipping for orders $29+ which is easily doable. Enjoy!

BLM & Me

I’ve been learning a lot from 2020 and I’m thankful it’s been educating me regarding the most meaningful concepts in life. The Black Lives Matter Movement has been inspiring and extremely informative. It’s not enough to be not racist, you need to be anti-racist in order for racism to actually stop. I’ve created a BLM highlight on my instagram page for you reference on what steps you can take to be anti-racist and end racism. This is extremely necessary, not just for Black Lives but moving forward as a whole and making the world a better place for current and future generations to live in. I’ll be creating a more detailed blogpost on actions you can take and informational sources for you to check out soon.

Tap on the picture to see what steps and actions I’ll be taking to ensure how I can support Black Matter Lives going forward.

Belly Band Fits

With COVID-19 taking over my try-ons, it’s hard to figure out what will fit me properly during my pregnancy. I ordered some maternity jeans, but they don’t fit as well as I’d like. Thankfully, I came across this awesome belly band, which allows me to wear my regular clothes (especially the loose ones) and it’s awesome.

IMG_2021.JPG

Top: Any loose white T will do for this look, especially one that’s a little baggy on you so that it works during pregnancy as well. I bought this white top from H&M and it’s currently not available. Here’s a similar top.

Belly Band: Here’s the belly band that’s holding my pants up. It’s comfortable fabric and it’s not super tight at all. It makes your maternity wardrobe so much easier.

Bottoms: I’m wearing elastic paperbag denim jeans that I got from Zara a while ago. They’re out of stock, but here’s something similar.

Winter Pink Skirt

It’s easy to rock spring colors in the winter, you just have to pair it with a darker color.

Adjustments.jpeg

The Comfy Fall Casual

Like I said, I will try to rock a comfy look whenever possible. Dressing up doesn’t have to be difficult. Here’s another easy fit:

IMG_7806.jpeg

Top: I’m wearing a red cropped cardigan from H&M. I bought it years ago, so here is an alternative from Nordstrom to easily pair with. I’m rocking a cropped beige top from Zara, currently not in stock so here is another alternative from Zara.

Bottoms: I’m wearing high waisted wide legged trousers from Aritzia, which is no longer available. Here’s an alternative from Urban Outfitters and I highly recommend keeping a pair in your closet because it’s a timeless piece.

Shoes: My go-to for casual and clean looks, white Converse slip-ons.

Bag: Prada (a similar version).

The Sporty Casual

I love it when I can dress so comfortable and yet still look trendy. Here’s an easy fit:

Bottoms: I’m wearing distressed high waisted black denim by Zara. It’s not in stock, but here’s a pair from Zara that I love and you can easily wear it with.

Shoes: I’m wearing my slip-on white Converses. Perfect for casual looks.

Organza Red Dress

The art of layering is one of my favorite things to learn and implement. It’s an efficient and timeless method for your wardrobe.

Organza Cover Dress: I purchased this cover dress on sale from Urban Outfitters. It’s a great way to add sleeves to any of your strap or sleeveless dresses. Not to mention, any color can go underneath it. I’d stick with red or neutrals to keep it a clean look.

Silk Slip Dress: I love slip dresses because they are so flattering and comfortable to wear. My husband says alone it looks like a “nightie”, but it’s so versatile and can be worn in so many ways. It’s a graceful look. I purchased this one from Aritzia, it’s sold out, but they tend to have other options from time to time. Here’s another option at Revolve.

Shoes: These are my favorite heels by Gianvito Rossi. The slip-ons are sold out, but here’s the alternative option by Gianvito Rossi.

Zara Sale Picks - Jan 2020

I have to say, I expected better from Zara’s sale this season, but I did find a couple picks. They may not stand out, but they’re a combination of statement pieces and timeless pieces for your closet. I’ve linked everything below so if you like what I choose, hopefully it’s still in stock! This is not a sponsored or paid post.

IMG_4184.jpeg

Blair vibes all the way, this was definitely my favorite pick of this season’s sale #GossipGirl

-UNFORTUNATELY ALREADY SOLD OUT-

IMG_4185.jpeg

I love this grungy yet clean vibe. Pair it with skinnies, leggings or leather pants and combat boots or sneakers to complete the vibe!

-UNFORTUNATELY ALREADY SOLD OUT-

IMG_4186.jpeg

This will always be a classic piece in your closet. Whether you want to rock it as is or pair it with tights to give it more of a fitted look combined with heels or booties will look so fabulous. For a modest vibe, pair this with black skinnies or leather pants and heels.

IMG_4188.jpeg

While this dress may appear simple, it’s completely underrated. You can dress this up or down and it’ll always look chic and cute! Dress this up with a black belt on top of the teal belt, heels and pearls or dress it down with sneakers. Not to mention it looks comfortable!

IMG_4190.jpeg

Everyone needs a classy black dress and to be honest I can never have enough. I love how this offers a more modest fit, yet will still flatter any body shape. The knotted front is a beautiful classy touch.

IMG_4191.jpeg

I love tulle tops because of the texture and silhouette they bring out while flattering any body type. You can tuck this top into high waisted pants, skirts or leather pants or even wear it under a blazer. It’ll always add a nice pop of color and texture.

IMG_4193.jpeg

Loose leather pants are very much trending. While we’re all accustomed to the spandex style leather pants, these are a trendy twist. They’re much more wearable with any top and considered as pants. They’re my staple pants for winter and even fall seasons.

IMG_4194.jpeg

I love ruffle skirts and this skirt is beautiful. The denim plays perfectly for all seasons except for winter. You can easily pair this skirt with a white top for an angelic and simple look or black for more edgy vibes. Denim can go with almost anything. I recommend wearing light colors for loose fitted tops paired with this or dark colors for tight tops.

IMG_4195.jpeg

This is a classic piece for your chilly weather. I love the color, it’s perfect for any season. The cropped part of it makes it super trendy. I would recommend wearing this with high waisted pants or skirts.

IMG_4196.jpeg

This dress is a timeless piece for your fall and winter wardrobe. It’ll keep you warm and you’ll look so chic! Dress it trendy with tall boots or dress it up with high heels. You can even play it casual and wear it with sneakers. There’s so many options.

IMG_4197.jpeg

This is a trendy statement skirt. It’ll look cute with any button down top whether it’s loose and over the skirt or tucked into the skirt giving you chic vibes.

IMG_4198.jpeg

I love this statement dress. I’m a huge fan of satin, it always looks amazing and can pair it with anything. I already adore the way Zara styled it and even more flattering look could be a fitted collar shirt or turtle neck. You can play around with this dress in many ways like adding a waist belt and heels or booties. I love the color as well.

IMG_4207.jpeg

This monochrome dress definitely caught my eye. It’s a trendy look with a beautiful neck and flattering most body shapes! It’s easy to wear and can be paired with anything.

IMG_4208.jpeg

This is such a fire dress. The neck and sleeves are bomb. You can wear this alone or with tights, it’ll look bomb regardless with any pair of shoes.

IMG_4209.jpeg

I love the cut and sleeves of this dress. The color carries more of a peach tone, which looks amazing on all skin tones especially olive. It’s a beautiful dress and easy to wear with anything.

IMG_4210.jpeg

What a gorgeous dress! Flattering any skin tone or any body shape. It’s a beautiful and timeless piece for your closet.

IMG_4211.jpeg

I love satin and the bow of this dress makes it very fashionable. In order to bring out the true beauty of this look, wear it alone or with tights. It looks comfortable and so effortless.

IMG_4212.jpeg

Crochet will always be a timeless piece in your closet. The color is perfect for all seasons and easily worn with high waisted bottoms or on top of a skirt.

IMG_4213.jpeg

I love these pants for chilly weather. They’re a chic cut and can be worn with any pair of shoes even skinny tall boots. Pair these with pants with sweaters or any loose fitted top.

Cozy Loungewear

Hi loves! I’ve been on the hunt for cute, comfortable and warm lounge wear. With our winters getting colder, it only makes sense to invest in some quality lounge wear and still look good!

I’ve linked everything I’ve tried on in my haul below. I’ve ranked it in order starting with what I love first. Tag me when you guys put them on so we can be twinning!

champion.PNG

These are the MOST comfortable out of my picks. They’re snug enough for the cozy season, keeping you warm and comfortable. They’re really cute loungewear and great for running errands in cold weather.

gottex.jpg

These are an identical replica to the Zella soft joggers and they’re half the price. The material is unbelievably soft. These loungepants are great for both Spring and Fall. They aren’t the warmest, but they’re the softest pants out of the bunch.

socks.jpg

In the winter, I’m obsessed with wearing comfortable socks at home. I finally found the perfect pair to wear at home AND be able to wear with my boots. The best part of these is that they never slip off and they’re SO comfortable. They’re not super loose or super fitted, but just right.

target.PNG

I love how soft this cropped hoodie is! It’s perfect to wear over anything including workout gear, casual wear or running errands. This pullover hoodie keeps me so snug and warm. I love it and all their colors are on point for this cozy season.

mango.PNG

This is my favorite jogger set to travel in. Not only is it really comfortable and made of wool to keep me warm, but it’s durable and looks great without looking like too much of a bum. This is definitely my favorite set! Please note you need to buy the pants and top separately.

sherpa jacket.PNG

6. Target Sherpa Fleece Jacket by Champion

Champion has rebranded their products and I’m loving their new line. This Sherpa jacket is the perfect balance of a fitted zip-up and the softest fabric. This teddy-bear like fabric seriously keeps you so warm. I love wearing it alone in 40-60s degree weather, after a workout or even for layering on a hike!

7618433.jpg

This is the exact same brand as the one Nordstrom sells just in a lighter color and significantly cheaper! It’s made of soft sweatpant like material with a light fleece lining. I love it for dressing comfortably outside such as running errands or after a workout. It’s chic and cozy!

526f2562-a803-4831-959b-bcb96926e76d.jpeg

These are the comfiest skinny sweatpants to look cute with your friends whether it’s lounging at their place or just being cozy outside. They’re fitted, yet not too tight where it’s uncomfortable like leggings. I love how sleek these sweatpants are.

11249806.jpg

Ok this is the perfect pull-over hoodie for after a workout in the colder seasons. It’s made of dry-fit material and very breathable. It keeps you warm and moving because of it’s looser fit on the sleeves. I love wearing it post-workout or if I’m just trying to cozy around the house.

11380417.jpg

These are your slightly more fitted than traditional sweatpants by Adidas. They're great for bumming at home or doing work around the house. They’re loose throughout, without making you look too baggy or bummed out. They’ve got a foldover tie waistband, which is different. I like them for being the closest to traditional sweatpants.

8983262.jpg

This is a fitted and super snug pullover, perfect to wear before or after working out. It’s cute enough to rock for casual wear as well. It’s made of comfortable material, yet remains structured. I love how flattering it looks on high-waisted pants or leggings. The Nordstrom Rack version sold out, so I linked the original Alo Yoga.

8892986.jpg

This hoodie takes me back to the fitted, but fur lined hoodies made by Abercrombie & Fitch or American Eagle. You can expect to wear this alone because of how warm it is. It’s also very fitted so it gives you more of a slimming look without feeling insecure about your front.

10543738.jpg

I love a nice tank when I’m about to do cardio indoors or when it’s warmer weather. I love that it’s light and breathable material and isn’t extra revealing. The neck is also flattering and I’m all for cute gym gear.

9fac2a17-9297-4057-9b73-993dab23c5e2.jpeg

14. Nordstrom Soft Joggers by Zella

These are very similar to the joggers by Gloxy (linked as #2 when you scroll up). They’re super soft material with just a little bit of different coloring. Once again, they’re perfect for Spring or Fall because they’re very easy to wear, look great, and aren’t too warm to step out in.

7964f7f4-46d1-4e9e-8e49-9c8f802f44d0.jpeg

This is very similar to the wrap sweatshirt (linked as #6 when you scroll up) it’s just a darker color and slightly thicker material. I love how flattering it looks buttoned or unbuttoned. It’s perfect to wear for being comfortable outside or when you’re about to go for a workout.

90s Flares

If you ask me which decade I could go back to it would either be the 90s because it was so much fun and so relaxed OR the 20s just for the fashion. If I can dress to reflect those decades I will. I appreciate the fact that 2019 is more acceptable of trends throughout the years. Social media has made that transition a lot easier because it just proves to show everyone has different style, and it’s not about conforming, it’s about being you.

public.jpeg

Top: I’m wearing this cute baby blue sweater cardigan that I got from Urban Outfitters this past spring. It’s a super comfortable knit sweater and the color makes everything super cute. Since the cardigan was a bit long, I decided to go ahead and tie a knot to add a little bit of a retro look. It worked perfectly!

Bottoms: I’m wearing high-waisted flare jeans from Express. They’re super comfortable, made with stretch material and extremely flattering. I miss flare jeans, these were the total 90s look. It’s very easy to pair these bottoms with anything specially crop tops!

Shoes: Wearing one of my favorite pairs ever, the plexi slip-on heels by Gianvito Rossi.

The Trendy Dinner Fit for Spring

When warm weather comes about, Chicago turns into another animal. A much more happy, energetic and determined-to-party animal. It’s awesome and you definitely need to have your wardrobe game on point when the temperatures start to rise! I love putting together dinner outfits because that’s when you can wear your boldness to the table.

Top: I’m wearing one of my favorite fuschia sleeveless tops from Zara along with a blazer cropped jacket that I got from AKIRA years ago! The cropped blazer is a perfect add-on for chilly weather and to dress up your look. Like I said before, I’m rarely satisfied with just your typical white and black combo, so I have to add a pop of color!

Bottoms: I bought this skirt from Zara about four years ago. It’s super comfortable and form fitting. Honestly, this was my favorite skirt to wear when I was pregnant in my last trimester too. It looks great and the pattern is so flattering! I love the fact that I can make it high waisted as well.

Shoes: I’m wearing the black Valentinos slingbacks that just came out. I had to replace my Black Loubs with another fashionable shoe and this was the lucky one! It’s chic, different and edgy.

The Mint Green Floral Lace

I’ve always had a strong passion for fashion. I can do it forever, especially online. Styling is a lot easier for me, but designing has always been a curious facet of fashion for me. I’ve attempted just a handful of times, when I’m extremely motivated to wear a certain design that I can’t find anywhere and yes that is when I take the matter into my own hands. It’s definitely a lot harder than it looks, but so rewarding because you get to wear your work of art!

Outfit: So these are one of the outfits I desired to make and got hooked up with my friend’s tailor in Pakistan, who made it happen. I’m so thankful. I decided to have the silk fabric dyed mint green. The pops of hot pink floral is what I was determined to have the most. I love this outfit, it’s the perfect outfit for all seasons and so casual chic.
